Step 1:Release a broken launcher update Step 2:Dont post any information on how to fix it Step 3:Wait for players to help other players get online Step 4: PROFIT! Im usually pretty understanding when updates have bugs and things go wrong with the servers CCP but....I get the feeling that this patch was a bit premature and Im not impressed.
thinking about how much this broken craps costs ! and obiously we are paying to loose our time on the forumpage WITHOUT ANY DECENT DESCRIPTION TO FIX FOR A KNOWN FAULT AND GETTING TEASED BY DEVS! |

CCP Atropos wrote:For those reporting that their settings have been deleted, this issue is simply solved by restarting the EVE Launcher. This happens due to the updater automatically starting the EVE Launcher after it has been updated, with incorrect path semantics.
Secondly for those getting the offline mode webpage from within the EVE Launcher, this is because the EVE Launcher is timing out when attempting to connect to our webservers. We're currently looking into why the webservers aren't responding in a timely fashion, and hope to have this resolved as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience. i DON'T HAVE ANY LEFT AFTER $ HOURS TRYING TO FIND A DECENT SOLUTION ( TIME USED TO SEARCH SOLUTION did cost me over 100 euros , spend the time for something that doesn't pay me but cost other money ...if i did't buy just 2 days ago for that **** i would not EVEN HAVE A NIGHTMARE OF DOING SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) |

- I press play on EVE
- It waits
- Then I press ok
- Then it goes to log-in screen
- Then it says Incompatible Version
- Then I go to forums
- There it says QA was outsourced to a hermit in Douchebaggistan.

CoffinQueen wrote:Eve is generally working well. This is the first really bad bug we have since a long time. I think CCP has earned a bit of advance good-will. And they are surely dont work harder or faster when you insult them, you wouldnt either.
this isn't just a bug , its like your mecchanic blowed up your car when he changed a light , and that in your own garage putting on fire your house and the 20 around yours ! because he used a light that is known in the whole country to explode |

UltraNoobian wrote:Dear CCP,
I believe your launcher is a decent piece of work, However it seems that you did not thoroughly look at user feedback or tested it before hand as there seems to be slow responses from the servers that the new Launcher depends on. The design may look good but it is not functional, Good looks are shallow if there isn't the heart to back it up.
Now this situation is reminiscent of the Captain's Quarters from the Incarna expansion where you passed on to us, the players, an update that did nothing to expand or help the player experience. This is not what we wanted, nor what we needed. It seems again, that there has been a mistake made and the price will the same as always.
I urge you now graciously to accept your mistake and offer up an apology.
Sincerely,
A Paying Customer.
As for anyone wanting to login without the launcher. Navigate to your EVE install and go in to the '/bin' folder and run exeFile.exe to run the client directly.
EDIT: If you have an incompatiable protocol come up, use the repair.exe
finally after 4 hours and 52 minutes and after trying x times, a not working exefile.exe and run repair again with no result i got *repaired* message . The launcher isn't working though , but it seems i can log on now trough exefile.exe But im working , so i can't afford to stay longer online then 4 hours or i get errors to stay awake during work ... from wich came the money to pay this ****... i really will remember this |
